Terrell Owens has agreed to a one-year, $6.5 million deal with the Buffalo Bills and the entire contract is guaranteed.

The Bills called a 6:15 p.m. news conference Saturday to announce the signing.

Owens’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said in a text message Friday that his client wouldn’t be out of work for too long.

“There are several teams that are interested in signing Terrell,” Rosenhaus said. “I have been in negotiations with these teams. I will not identify the teams at this time. Terrell and I expect to have a deal in place by the end of next week if not sooner.”

It looks as if Drew wasn’t bluffing about this.

Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez will hold off on having surgery on his torn labrum and cyst from his right hip.

There had been talks originally that he would be out 10-12 weeks after surgery had finished. However, with rest and rehab players have played through this injury before. It looks as if A-Rod will attempt to do the same now.

The development also means that A-Rod will not be able to participate with the Dominican Republic team in the World Baseball Classic.

Rodriguez felt tightness in his right hip this spring and was examined by team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad on Saturday and an MRI exam revealed the cyst.

13-year veteran Ray Lewis has reached an agreement to return to the Baltimore Ravens after testing the free-agent market for weeks.

The two sides agreed to a three-year contract, worth $20 million to $25 million.

“We have an agreement in principle with Ray Lewis,” Ravens spokesman Kevin Byrne said. “It will allow Ray to finish his career as a Raven.”

The long-time middle linebacker is one of the most celebrated and decorated defenders in league history. Lewis is also regarded as the heart and soul of the Baltimore defense, and it was hard to imagine the unit playing a game without him. Luckily the Ravens will not have to do so for the next few seasons.

The deal has yet to be signed but should be finalized in the next few days.

The Arizona Cardinals and Kurt Warner agreed Wednesday to a two-year, $23 million deal. $19 million of that contract will be guaranteed.

Under the terms of the deal, Warner will receive a $15 million signing bonus and $4 million base in each of the two seasons.

The negotiations ran all Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning. One of the big breakthroughs came Tuesday when Warner, who had been asking for $14 million to $16 million a year, reduced his asking price to $11.5 million a year, as long as there were substantial guarantees in 2010.

He was also willing to take $1 million less a season if the team successfully satisfied the contract extension demands of wide receiver Anquan Boldin.

Warner has been performing like a top-five quarterback since taking over the Cardinals’ starting job from Matt Leinart on Oct. 14, 2007. He has thrown 53 touchdown passes in his last 27 starts as the Cardinals’ starter. Last season, he completed 67.1 percent of his passes and threw for 4,583 yards. In four playoff games, he completed 92 of 135 passes for 1,147 yards for 11 touchdowns and three interceptions.

A day after losing wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, the Cincinnati Bengals replaced him with former New York Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles.

Coles agreed in principle to a four-year, $28 million deal. Both sides still have to work on the language of the contract and the guarantees, but the money figures were acceptable to Coles.

The Buffalo Bills were his first visit, but talks with the Bengals heated up over the weekend with the possibility of Houshmandzadeh leaving for the Seattle Seahawks.

The 31-year-old Colts caught 631 passes during his nine-year career with the Jets. He had 8,095 yards and 44 touchdown receptions during his career in New York.

ORLANDO, Florida — Manny Ramirez and the Los Angeles Dodgers finally reached some common ground in their negotiations.

After multiple failed attempts, Ramirez and the Dodgers agreed to general terms Tuesday on a two-year, $45 million deal.

The outfielder is expected to travel to Los Angeles on Tuesday night. Once he signs the papers and the deal officially goes through, Ramirez would report to the Dodgers’ spring training camp in Arizona.

The contract is reportedly worth 45-Million dollars over 2 years.

In what turned out to be a tougher decision than expected, wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh chose the Seattle Seahawks over the Minnesota Vikings and the Cincinnati Bengals

Though he had hoped to make his decision Sunday, Houshmanzadeh, pressured by Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer to stay in Cincinnati, and the Vikings to stay around the Minneapolis area during a visit, escaped from a Minneapolis hotel Sunday night, flew to Los Angeles and took Monday morning trying to make up his mind.

The final decision was the Seattle Seahawks…

The Terms of the contract have not officially been announced but; it is believed to be a 5-year deal in the 40-Million dollar range with 15-Million of it guaranteed.

The Washington Redskins released defensive end Jason Taylor on Monday after the six-time All-Pro decided he wouldn’t be attending offseason workouts.

Taylor was asked by the Redskins to take part in 75 percent of their offseason workouts. That would have required him to be at the Redskins’ facility during eight of the 13 weeks of the offseason program.

With three children, Taylor, who has a home in the Miami area, opted not to agree to the workout provisions. The team was willing to keep his restructured salary at $8.5 million, but his desire to be with his family in the offseason was more important in his life.

Taylor came to the Redskins from the Miami Dolphins for a second-round choice in 2009 and a sixth-rounder in 2010.

The 34-year-old’s 120.5 career sacks are the most among active NFL players.

Despite his departure from the Redskins, Taylor is still interested in continuing his NFL career.
